Rehab Medical, a leading provider of custom mobility solutions, welcomes Michael Farrell to its team as vice president of regulatory and funding. With nearly two decades of healthcare experience, Farrell has worked as a compliance consultant for various providers and previously served as the vice president of revenue cycle management for United Health Care (UHC) and Optum.
Following its inclusion on the Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Private Companies in America list for the third time, opening four new offices, expanding into its 18th state, and recognition as HME Provider of the Year by HME News, Rehab Medical created Farrell’s position to sustain and build upon its 2024 momentum.
Farrell’s primary responsibility will be to create processes and procedures that align with insurance carrier policies. He will collaborate with the compliance team to ensure adherence to Medicaid and Medicare regulations while also partnering with the payer relations team to prevent excessive audits, reduce insurance denials, and expedite claim submissions.
By overseeing the entire compliance and insurance process, Farrell can close gaps that could result in individuals being denied the life improving mobility equipment they need.
“I’ve been in the healthcare industry 15 years, providing operational guidance so facilities could build solid teams and implement processes that improved their efficiencies,” mentioned Farrell. “With my transition to Rehab Medical, I’m not only able to provide operational guidance, but I’m also part of the implementation process, and that excites me the most about my role.”
During his onboarding, Farrell will prioritize understanding his team’s needs and building strong relationships with the company’s top insurance carriers. From there, he plans to foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging his team to strive for excellence and contribute solutions across the organization. Additionally, he has a unique leadership philosophy where he believes attitude and activity are the keys to a successful career.
“If you have a good attitude and can maintain high activity, then everything else will fall into place,” said Farrell.
As Rehab Medical continues to develop structure around its mission of improving lives, Farrell will play a key role.
